Install
Install the geospec-engine package from npm, pick an entry point and see what each host loads.
npm
npm i geospec-engine@nextThe package needs Node 24 or later. Every commit on main publishes a next prerelease; the first stable release moves latest. Before 1.0 a minor release may break.
Entry points
| Import | Runs on | Loads |
|---|---|---|
geospec-engine | Node and browsers | The WASM module shipped in the package |
geospec-engine/wasm | Node and browsers | The same WASM module |
geospec-engine/node | Node | A native addon from a platform prebuild |
geospec-engine/wasm-binary | Bundlers | The .wasm file, for serving it yourself |
The WASM entries export initialize; call it once before constructing an Engine. It accepts the shipped module location or explicit WASM bytes or a URL. The node entry loads its addon without WASM initialization.
Native prebuilds
Each native addon ships as an optional dependency named geospec-engine-<platform>, installed only on its matching host. List the prebuilds a release carries with:
npm view geospec-engine@next optionalDependenciesOn a host without a prebuild, geospec-engine/node throws when it cannot find the native binding. Import geospec-engine there instead; the WASM module runs the same engine.
Python
The CPython 3.13 and 3.14 wheel, geospec-engine on PyPI, provides the geospec_engine_native extension, the geospec assertions and a pytest plugin. The wheel publishes with the first stable release; next prereleases are npm-only.
